The Top 7 Spring 2025 Decor Trends You Need to Try

As the world awakens from winter’s slumber, spring offers the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into our homes. This season, we’re embracing daring colors, playful patterns, and thoughtful, sustainable updates that infuse warmth and personality into every space. To learn more about what the 2025 spring season will hold, we tapped Yelp’s trend expert, Tara Lewis, and multiple interior designers for their predictions. Read on to learn what they say the top seven spring decorating trends are and how you can implement them in your home.

1. Bold Use of Color

Say goodbye to the typical, pastel-dominant spring palette and look to one that is more brash instead. “After a long spell of neutrals dominating the scene, spring 2025 is all about embracing bold, saturated hues,” says Danielle Chiprut, founder and principal designer at Design Rose Design Co. Deep burgundy is making waves in both fashion and interiors, alongside vibrant blues and greens, warm terra-cotta and pinks, and unexpected color pairings. “We’re loving lavender paired with apricot, deep cobalt accented by copper, and moss green being used as a neutral in various spaces,” says Caron Woolsey, founder and principal designer at CW Interiors.

Experiment with bold pops of color through a feature wall, upholstery, or accessories like throws, cushions, and art pieces. “It’s all about making a statement while adding warmth and sophistication,” says Chiprut, who predicts a comeback of colorful natural stone finishes. “Expect kitchens and bathrooms to feature stunning onyx, green marble, and vibrant quarzite, bringing an organic yet striking touch to the home.”

2. Stripes Everywhere

Stripes are having a major design moment, proving that the lively pattern is timeless, versatile, and effortlessly chic. “From bold wallpaper installations to playful pillows and Scandinavian-style bedding, stripes are appearing everywhere,” says Lewis. “Searches for ‘stripes’ are up 77%, reflecting a renewed love for this classic pattern.”

For a subtle approach, incorporate stripes through textiles and upholstered furniture. “We’re expecting to see a range of different scales of stripes on chairs this spring,” says Andrea Lackie, founder of Andrea Lackie Design. “We also have our eye on mixing soft, natural fabrics, like cotton and linen, with unexpected materials such as metal to create an intriguing contrast, preventing spaces from feeling overly sweet while adding layers of interest.”

3. Harmonious Blues and Greens

Refreshing and invigorating, blues and greens are on the scene this spring. “These shades have been gaining momentum for some time, but now they’re in full force. Homeowners are loving these two shades in all their forms,” says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams. The brand has seen a recent surge in sales of blue and green-tinted paint and color chips, and the trend is expected to blossom further this spring.

These hues offer a calming, nature-inspired aesthetic that replaces traditional neutrals in many spaces. Whether incorporated through wall colors, upholstery, or accent decor, blues and greens bring a fresh vibrancy this season that signals new beginnings.

4. Pattern Play

Embrace vibrant florals and botanical prints to enhance your connection with nature and synchronize your home with the season. “Minimalism is taking a backseat as we embrace a more layered, maximalist approach this spring,” says Chiprut. “Expect to see florals reinterpreted with modern geometric and abstract designs, and textures like nubby fabrics and plush velvets to create depth and visual interest.”

The key to mixing patterns successfully? Start with a dominant design and layer complimentary prints with coordinating color palettes. Vary textures and scales to maintain balance, and incorporate solid colors to break up busy compositions. Inject fresh colors and prints in a curated, collected-over-time look to signify a fresh start and the promise of brighter days ahead.

5. Furniture Flips

Spring cleaning gets a sustainable twist this year with the rise of furniture flipping. In the spirit of new life and beginnings, homeowners are choosing to restore and upcycle tired-looking furniture. “Instead of discarding pieces that have lost their charm, breathe new life into them with vibrant fabric or stylish trim, instantly refreshing your home with color and personality,” suggests Elizabeth Drake, founder of Elizabeth Drake Interiors.

According to Lewis, searches for “furniture restoration” are up 18% on Yelp, while “upcycle” has risen by 24%—this data displays a growing desire to refresh spaces sustainably. Whether you reupholster a vintage chair or give a secondhand find a modern update, flipping furniture allows you to revive unique, character-filled pieces with a story to tell and stay within a budget.

6. Hardware Upgrades

Small changes can make a big difference, and hardware swaps are the easiest way to elevate a space. “People are looking for service professionals to replace dull door handles with unique, customized hardware,” says Lewis. Searches for “door knob installation” have increased by 51%, reflecting the growing interest in personalized design details. From checkered knobs to vintage floral hardware, these subtle updates infuse spaces with character and charm without requiring a major renovation.

7. Artful Accessorizing

For those who want quick, effortless updates, artful accessorizing is the answer. “Swap out heavy winter textiles for lighter, breathable fabrics like linen and cotton,” suggests Chiprut. Add fresh greenery, whether potted plants, branches, or even a simple bowl of citrus, to instantly brighten a space. Everyday items like tableware and linens can also be refreshed to create a seasonal tablescape. “Sometimes, a few intentional touches can redefine a room,” says Woolsey. Whether it’s a new piece of artwork, a statement ceramic vase, or a freshly painted accent wall, these small changes make a significant impact.
